AKA Connections Committee

The National Connection Committee identifies and studies national and international issues which impact quality of life; designs strategies for communication with the membership regarding these issues; mobilizes the membership for action; and formulates and recommends position statements to the President and/or Board of Directors. The local connections committee will participate in political and social issues pertaining to local county, city, state government issues, as well as economic concerns of our community.

AKA Day at the CapitalThe purpose of this day is to educate Sorors in the state legislative process, to inform Sorors and legislators of issues that affect the African American Community and to make state lawmakers aware of the Alpha Kappa Alpha presence.

 

 

 

 

AKA Day at the CaptialThe goal is to give Sorors an opportunity to learn how to advocate issues and talk to their legislators about issues impacting their community.

 

 


 

MLK Day of Service

The purpose is to celebrate the life and teachings of MLK, Jr. through service to others and encourage community service through partnerships with other organizations.
Our goal is to increase the number of Sorors and other citizens who take a day “on” rather than a day “off” on MLK, Jr. Holiday by participating in a day of service.

Youth Financial Literacy

The purpose of the Youth Financial Literacy program is to educate youth about money and our financial system: Our goal is to give our youth, grades 2 through college, the awareness, knowledge and practice of money management and capital investment.
